Children will not be allowed to bring face masks to school, this is not appropriate at a young age as we cannot manage this if they touch, them take them off and try and give them to their friends. Epi-Pens, inhalers and other prescribed medicines If we have your childs medicine in school we will continue to use this, if there are any issues Mrs Palmer will be in contact via phone. Your child’s medicines will be kept in the bubble classroom at all times in a cupboard which children cannot access. Medicines in school Please can I remind parents even in these unprecedented times the rules still apply for medicines, we can only take prescribed medicines which come in a box from the pharmacist and with an appropriate label on it. If it is antibiotics we can only accept it if it is 4 times a day. If you do need to bring medicines into school please go the front office where you will find a table outside the front door, please fill in the appropriate consent form, give the office staff a wave, leave the medicines on the table and then move away. The office staff will then come out and collect it. Any concerns please phone the office. Soap We have lots of soap in school and the children will be washing their hands more than normal. PLEASE DO NOT SEND in any hand gel, lotions, soaps or creams the children will not be allowed to use these. If your child has a skin allergy then please ask your doctor to prescribe some appropriate hand soap that can be kept in the classroom. This is to protect all children who might have allergies etc. Suntan cream Please ensure your child has sun tan cream on before they attend school. We are not allowed to apply suntan cream and the children are not allowed to bring it into school. Communication with the school This is such as unusual situation for us as we always have an open door policy but due to circumstances we are now having an open door phone line. At the being of the day please do not wait to speak to the teacher, we need to get the children in as quickly as possible and will only have time to have polite “hellos” so the children can endeavour to social distance correctly. If you have any concerns or worries please phone the school office 01202 882532. The office staff will be available to take messages and give them to the bubble staff. If the class teacher needs to return the call to speak to you, this will be done by telephone at the end of the day when the children have gone home. We are more than happy to speak to you over the phone so please give us a call if you have any queries or concerns. Early Collection of a child If you have an emergency and need to collect your child for a personal reason please ring the school office as usual. If school have rung to ask you to collect your child during school times please can you drive into the car park and walk around to your allotted door. The class teacher will have been informed that you will be arriving at a certain time. Please do not try and enter the school site. All classrooms have a Walkie Talkie system and so messages can be passed on easily. Remote learning This will be instigated if we have to close a year group bubble for 14 days or we have a local lockdown. Please see our remote learning policy online. 25
