Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsites
Out and about Burnbake is part of the Rempstone Estate on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. Not an actual island, but a headland of nature reserves and green, rolling hills. Rich in wildlife, there are more species of animals and plants than anywhere in the country. Within a few minutes drive you will fall upon the impossibly pretty village of Corfe and it’s mighty Castle, the stunning beaches of Studland and Shell Bay, the seaside resort of Swanage and the quaint, Saxon town of Wareham. The amazing Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and the natural wonders of the Jurassic Coast are all within easy reach. Venture a little further to swanky Sandbanks, Bournemouth and Poole’s natural harbour. Here, boats bustle to take you sightseeing, fishing and to enchanting Brownsea Island. Glorious walks and rides abound with miles of paths and bridleways. Cycle hire is available nearby. There are character pubs, bars, bistros, eateries and inviting attractions. Adrenalin seekers can test their nerves coasteering or at the Burnbake Ropes Course, a challenging mix of zip wires and rope adventures high in the trees, just outside our front gate! For the energetic, the popular Dorset Waterpark and Mud Trail is close by. You will find horse riding and golf at Studland (lodge guests receive a discount), land and water based activities at Brenscombe Outdoor Centre and Knoll Beach, climbing and abseiling on the Swanage cliffs, rafting and kayaking in Wareham and big canoeing in Poole Harbour. However hard you choose to play, your time at Burnbake can be as busy or chilled-out as you want it to be.
